As a member of Sutton Tennis & Squash Club, you can be extremely proud that you have been part of the process of raising over £30,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity over a number of years.
How? Through many different events and fundraisers, for example:
- The annual British Tour event, where there are various fundraising efforts.
- Other events, for example the charity mixed doubles event which has twice been organised by Steve Tiddy – the most recent one raising just under £5k!
- Raffles / auctions, particularly the Andy Murray artwork, of which several prints have been auctioned or raffled.
- The Tim Henman junior coaching clinic, which has taken place several times.
How has your money helped?
The money raised is supporting the Oak Centre for Children and Young People, located at our Sutton hospital. In the children’s unit we treat over 5,000 day patients and 600 inpatients every year. Treating children from age 1-24 it is one of the largest comprehensive children and young people’s cancer centres in Europe. The centre includes 33 inpatient beds, a playroom, therapies rooms, chill-out zones, school and study rooms, parent areas, and an outdoor roof terrace. Thanks to our supporters we can ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments which are used here in the UK and around the world.

Thank You
There are too many people to thank for their part in this fundraising, so for now we just have to say thanks to everyone who has played a role in organising the events that have been part of this effort.
But also, thanks to you. As a member of the club, you have played your part in raising this money for such a great cause.
