£11k Cheque for TRMCC

For the 10th year, Sutton Tennis and Squash Club has hosted the Aegon British Tour Tennis Tournament – the biggest in the UK – at its Devonshire Road Club.

During the week, a cheque for £11,000 was presented to Jean Eve, the Community Fundraising Officer for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, for the funds raised by the Club during 2016.  During the presentation, Club Chairman, Peter Ward commented:

“Supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has become part of the D.N.A of this Club with their fund raising, and we have continued to attract a number of local sponsors, helping us to develop tennis & squash facilities for the benefit of our members and many local schools for whom the club runs coaching programs.”

In addition this year, 12 limited edition prints of the Patrick Bremer original artwork “Walking on Sunshine”  are being auctioned to raise money. Number 10 of 12 is being raffled to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Junior Tennis development at Sutton Tennis and Squash Club. The print is signed by Andy Murray and the Artist.

The Draw takes place on Sep 23rd – Club Finals Day. Just 300 tickets are being sold. If you would like to take part, please ask one of our volunteer members or visit www.stscsport.co.uk
