Dear Tennis Members
Here is an update regarding Social Tennis (AKA Mix In) at Sutton Tennis & Squash Club.
Timings
Tuesday and Friday Social Tennis both start at 7pm. The Friday start time has been a little bit confusing – this is because supervision only starts from 7.30pm, which is when the organiser is available. We also had the start time time showing as 7.30pm on MyCourts (the booking system). But please be assured that the sessions does start at 7pm without an organiser and courts 7-9 are booked for the session.
Please arrive at 7pm, get warmed up, organise your first game and then the organiser will be there from 7.30-8.30pm.
Note: another factor regarding the start time on Fridays is court availability. There are only 3 courts available at 7pm, more at 7.30. At the moment, this is not a problem as there have not been more than 12 members attending. But if that number does start to go above 12, there may be changes to the start time.
Signing up (and cancelling)
Please ensure that you sign up for the session – and we politely ask that you do not attend without signing up. We have made lots of space available but be aware that, for the Tuesday session, the numbers are capped and courts released to members on Saturdays. This means that if you do not sign up by Saturday, you may not get a place on Tuesday.
Please cancel your place if you are unable to attend. And, if the session was full, if you are able to put a message on the whatsapp group to let others know that there is a space, that would be appreciated!
When is the session supervised and not?
Originally, only the Tuesday session was supervised and that was only during school terms, not in the holidays. The was changed to include one hour of supervision on Fridays and also for more (but not all) of the school holidays to be supervised. Karl will keep you posted as much as possible via the whatsapp group as to when the session will not be supervised.
